About Service Corporation International

Service Corporation International (SCI) is a death care services company that owns and operates funeral homes and cemeteries across North America. Revenue comes from selling funeral services, funeral merchandise, cemetery interment rights, and cemetery merchandise and services on both an at-need (immediate) and pre-need (pre-arranged) basis. Pre-need contracts are funded through insurance policies or trust arrangements, with revenue recognized at the time of delivery. Cemetery perpetual care trust funds, established to maintain cemetery grounds in perpetuity, generate investment earnings that offset ongoing maintenance costs. SCI operates two reportable segments: funeral and cemetery. Cemetery merchandise and services include stone and bronze memorials, markers, outer burial containers, floral placement, graveside services, urns, cremation niches, and mausoleum spaces. The business is capital-intensive, carrying meaningful debt, and demand is driven primarily by death rates and demographic trends. The 10-K covers fiscal year ended December 31, 2025, filed February 12, 2026.
