About Bassett Furniture Industries Inc

Bassett Furniture Industries (NASDAQ: BSET) is a home furnishings company that designs, manufactures, sources, and retails wood and upholstered furniture. Revenue comes from two segments: wholesale sales of furniture and accessories to a network of Bassett Home Furnishings (BHF) stores and independent dealers, and direct retail sales through company-owned BHF stores. Founded in 1902 and incorporated in Virginia in 1930, Bassett operates 57 company-owned BHF stores and licenses additional locations within a network of 86 company-owned and licensed BHF stores as of the FY2025 10-K filed February 5, 2026. Consolidated net sales were $335.3M in FY2025 and $329.9M in FY2024 (53-week year). Wholesale external sales were $118.6M in FY2025; retail sales were $216.7M in FY2025. Approximately 23% of FY2025 wholesale sales were imported finished product, with the remainder domestically manufactured, primarily on a custom-order basis. CEO Robert H. Spilman, Jr. is named in the FY2025 10-K as President and Chief Executive Officer.

Revenue model
Transactional revenue from two channels: wholesale sales of furniture and accessories to external BHF licensee dealers and company-owned retail stores (wholesale external sales of $118.6M in FY2025), and direct retail sales through 57 company-owned BHF stores ($216.7M in FY2025). Intercompany wholesale sales to the retail segment ($96.0M in FY2025) are eliminated in consolidation.
Products and services
Wood and upholstered furniture sold under the Bassett and BHF brand through retail and wholesale channels. Materials used in production include lumber, fabric, leather, and foam. Product mix blends domestically manufactured custom-order pieces with sourced imported collections. Wholesale backlog was $19.5M as of November 29, 2025 and $21.8M as of November 30, 2024.
Customers and end markets
End customers are residential consumers purchasing home furnishings. Wholesale customers include licensed BHF store operators and independent furniture dealers. Approximately 60% of wholesale sales arise from the BHF store network (company-owned and licensed) per the FY2025 10-K.
Value-chain role
Vertically integrated across design, domestic manufacturing, import sourcing, and company-owned retail. Operates its own retail stores while also distributing through a licensed dealer network. Domestic manufacturing is concentrated in upholstery products.
Geographic exposure
Primarily domestic U.S. operations. Imported finished product represented 23% of wholesale sales in FY2025, 20% in FY2024, and 22% in FY2023, sourced internationally but sold through U.S. channels.
